Building positive thoughts is very much important for your bright future. When it comes to your mind, there are two types of thoughts you can create: those that encourage your mind to do your bidding and those that get in the way. The following tips can help you cultivate thoughts that promote you as a person and give you the power to go out and create your life.
Building Positive Thoughts
Build your mind. Don’t wait for external factors to help you. You have a very powerful tool in your hand, the mind. It can be used to influence events and change your reality, but only if you harness it.
Think about how to change what’s already there. Why do you think you had a hit music record or a relationship with a wonderful girlfriend? Those things did not happen without you knowing what to do to make them happen. Your actions and your decisions produced those outcomes.
Ask yourself what you want from life. Put yourself in the place of others and ask them what they want from life. You can capture your own reality by asking yourself what you want from your life.
Think about how to change the way you react to situations. Negative thinking can’t be controlled by anyone but you. Accept that there is a difference between thinking positively and negatively, and your negative thoughts are limited to only your own mind.
Think about what will make you feel good and stop thinking about what will make you feel bad. Think about the situations you find yourself in and the emotions you get involved in. Try to focus on the “what” and the “how” of what you can do to help yourself rather than to make yourself feel better. This kind of thinking is much more likely to produce positive results than negative ones.
Instead of saying, “I’m going to act negatively,” say, “I need to change the way I act to achieve my goals.” Or, “This is why I got involved in this situation.” “There are ways that I can change the way I act so that I can achieve my goals.”
Always think about what you don’t want, instead of what you do want. Focus on the things that you can control, not the things that you can’t. Always tell yourself that you’re going to do a little more tomorrow, then tell yourself that you’re going to give up tomorrow.
Think about what you do want to do but don’t know how to get started. Ask yourself how you’d like to go out with your friends, play some games, go shopping, and any other activity you want to do. But, be clear that you have to do the activities to succeed, not because you want to do them.
Think about the consequences of inaction. Once you’ve decided what actions you’re going to take, be clear about the consequences of not taking the actions.
Focus on what you should be doing and on what you can do. Don’t worry about what you can’t do. You can do whatever you want, but you won’t have success unless you take the actions needed to have success.
Do it now! Take some action now and use these tips as a guide. A little action today will set you up for a long-term benefit tomorrow.
